Our Standards of Practice

Code of Ethics
As a member of the American Translators Association we follow the American Translators Association Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. Translators hired by Tone, whether individual ATA members or not, are expected to follow this code of ethics.

TEP Process
TONE follows the translate, edit, and proofreading (TEP) process for all translation requests. For more information about our quality assurance and TEP process visit our “Process” Page.

Project Specifications
A project manager may request detailed information from you regarding your project. These additional details such as deadlines, formatting questions, delivery options, definition of terms, and cultural references are important for quality translation. As a partner in your success we encourage you to consider

  • What is your goal for having the information translated?
  • What outcome would you like?
  • Who is your target audience?
